KOB News 4 TV obtained documentation regarding the investigation of the Berrendo Middle School shooting on Jan. 14th.
12-year old Mason Campbell opened fire in a packed BMS gym which injured two of his classmates.
The report details that Campbell told a woman who owns a local furniture store that he planned to bring a gun to school months before he actually did it.
The woman accounts that Mason and his grandmother were in her store around the Thanksgiving holiday. Campbell supposedly told her that he was tired of getting bullied and he planned to saw off the butt of his shotgun, bring it to school and fire it into the air to get the attention of others.
The document also states that Campbell’s grandmother heard the whole thing and told the store owner not to pay attention to what Campbell what said. Campbell reportedly said, “See nobody listens to me.
During the investigation, the report states that law enforcement officials met with Campbell’s parents and grandmother. They all said that Campbell was a sweet boy but was having issues at BMS.
But the question still begs for a motive for the shooting which was redacted from the report.
Reports are that a plea hearing will be held for Campbell on May 16th.
