ROSWELL– Lovelace Regional Hospital unveiled its new $2.5 million dollar cath lab with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday.
The new piece of equipment will enable doctors to clearly see a problem with a patient who may have blockage or any other cardio problem. This new cath lab is top of the line piece of equipment used in major metropolitan hospitals.
Mayor Dennis Kintigh who is pushing an initiative for better health care for citizens here in Roswell and Chaves County commented that “This is a quality o service that our residents need to have and our neighbors in the surrounding communities we wanted to bring this to our area so we don’t have to travel elsewhere.”
Kintigh will have meet the committee to recruit and retain physicians today at City Hall at 2 p.m.

ROSWELL – Roswell Police are investigating a one vehicle accident involving an SUV that occurred at the corner of West Alameda and Wyoming on Monday
According to witnesses at the scene, the driver of the SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed traveling east on Alameda when his vehicle jumped the curb on Wyoming and rammed through two home...s before coming to rest in the patio area of a third house.
One witness told KBIM Radio News, that the driver’s injuries were gruesome in nature.
RPD’s Spokesperson Sabrina Morales reports that the driver was taken to a local hospital his injuries are unknown.
Fortunately, no one was home at any of the three homes when the accident occurred.
